Procedures
Individual medical exercise (IME)
This focuses on maintaining and restoring the body´s locomotor functions. The procedure includes practising correct breathing, correct body posture and correct movement stereotypes during routine activities.
Ozone therapy
Ozone therapy O3 exerts a therapeutic effect on the body and is used in various disorders, e.g. back and joint pain. It regenerates and accelerates the healing of wounds and injuries and it also boosts the immune system.
Oxygen therapy
Oxygen therapy is a therapeutic regenerative method that improves metabolism and brain function and purifies the body from toxins. It relieves both mental and emotional fatigue. It plays an important role in lifestyle diseases and slows down the aging process. It has beneficial effects on cardiovascular disorders and helps protect against tumours.
Shock wave Therapy
This is predominantly used to treat muscle attachment pain- most often involving shoulder pain, tennis and Golfer´s elbow, Achilles tendon pain, acute and chronic heel pain including heel spur.
Gas (CO2) injections
This is the administration of a specially modified gas (CO2). The gas is administered into selected points of the spine and peripheral joints. It exerts an analgesic effect at the injected site and relieves muscle spasms.
Mirror bath
This pool is filled with natural thermal sulfuric mineral water from Piešťany at a temperature ranging from 38 °C to 39 °C. This procedure may be undertaken only once a physician´s recommendation based on a careful medical examination is secured. It is performed at the spa island located approx. 100 m from the hotel.
Mud bath
This pool contains sulfuric mud from Piešťany and is permeated with natural thermal water springs. The temperature ranges from 39 °C to 41 °C. This procedure may be undertaken only once a physician´s recommendation based on a careful medical examination is secured. It is performed at the spa island located approx. 100 m from the hotel.
Parafango
This is a form of local heat application. It is prepared by mixing paraffin oil with a mixture of paraffin and Piešťany mud. It promotes muscle spasm relaxation, improves circulation and tissue healing.
Peat wrap
Peat contains high concentrations of organic substances and the wrap is recommended in joint and back pain as well as in muscle contractures.
Lymphatic drainage
This clears and unblocks superficial lymph nodes, thus helping to drain excessive fluids from the body and eliminate oedema.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture uses a specific system of points and pathways. In essence, it exerts an effect on the organism via specific stimulation of clearly defined points on the body´s surface with the aid of special needles.
Laser therapy
This has a significant biostimulation effect. It boosts blood circulation in tissues, vessels, lymph vessels and epithelium. It has an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect.
Reflexive massage
This involves manual therapeutic intervention at sites of induced reflexive changes. There are four basic systems in reflexive massage: head and nape, spine, chest and foot massage.
Soft tissue techniques
These involve special manual methods that affect reflexive changes in muscles and subcutaneous tissues with the aim of relaxing muscle tension and providing pain relief.
Classical massage
This is the manual application of targeted mechanical strokes. Classical massage improves circulation in the skin, subcutaneous tissue and muscles; it helps relax rigid and painful muscles.
Lava stone massage
The heat released from the stones together with the massage help: relax muscles, soothe painful sites of the body and loosen muscle spasms.
TENS
The principle of TENS lies in the reduction and suppression of nerve excitation at various levels of the nervous system. It is indicated predominantly in conditions requiring pain relief.
Magnet therapy
This uses the therapeutic effects of a magnetic field on biological tissues.
Ultrasound
This involves the therapeutic application of ultrasound, which improves tissue circulation and nutrition.
Quantum therapy
This is an addition to the therapeutic options especially in joint and muscle diseases. In traumatology, it is mainly used to improve wound healing and promote tissue nutrition in poorly healing defects.
Inhalation
This is a treatment that involves inhaling healing mineral water, e.g. Vincentka, in cases of chronic upper or lower airway inflammation.
Traction
The purpose of traction is to relax the shortened ligaments of the spine. Manual traction on a traction table is performed.
